Chapter 2: The Descent into Darkness | The Lonely Rose

Rosella spent the next few days alone in the garden, feeling more and more hopeless with each passing day. She missed the warmth of the sun, the songs of the birds, and the company of her fellow flowers. She longed to return to the village, but she knew it was too late.

As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, Rosella slowly began to wilt. Her petals turned brown and brittle, and her once sweet fragrance turned sour. She knew that she was dying, and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

Rosella's only companion was a small and lonely ladybug, who would often come to sit on her petals and keep her company. The ladybug was the only living being that seemed to care about her, and Rosella was grateful for its friendship.

But even the ladybug could not ease the pain of Rosella's loneliness and sadness.
